AMERICUS
New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church
The Mission Anniversary is observed during the 11 a.m. worship service May 5 with theme, “I Am Determined to Hold Out.” Minister Melissa Garret, a dynamic speaker and teacher, delivers the message.

Old Antioch Missionary Baptist Church
The Pastor’s 12th Anniversary Celebration is at 7 p.m. May 15 with guests, Pastor Daniel Clinton and Shipp Chapel Baptist Church; 7 p.m. May 16 with guests, the Rev. George Edge and Restoration Church; and culminating at 11 a.m. May 19 with Son of the House, Minister Trenton Floyd. Anniversary colors are teal, coral, black, and white.

Perry B. Grove Baptist Church
A pre-Mother’s Day program is at 2 p.m. May 4 when all mothers present will be recognized during the program. Pastor Mathis K. Wright Jr. is speaker along with New Union Grove Baptist Church as special guests. Everyone is invited.

Big Bethel Missionary Baptist Church
Everyone is invited to the annual Spring Revival at 7 p.m. May 7-9 with the following schedule: Tuesday, the Rev. Michael Edge and William Grove Baptist Church, Ellaville are in charge; Wednesday, the Rev. W. J. Hill and New Zion Hill Baptist Church of Leslie; and Thursday, the Rev. Tony Smith and Jerusalem Baptist Church, Americus.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church
A Mother’s Day Gospel Singing is at 5 p.m. May 11; doors open at 4 p.m. The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Ensemble opens and other featured groups include Preacher Boys of Albany, Sons of Gospel, Montezuma, Jenkins Jubilees and LL&L Singers of Americus. This is an open-door program and everyone is invited. Minister Trenton Floyd serves as master of ceremonies.
Everyone is also invited to the annual Revival Services May 19-23. The Sunday service starts at 6 p.m. with the Rev. De’Angelo Jones and Union Baptist Church, Morgan, in charge. Guest revivalist Monday through Thursday @ 7pm will be The Rev. Rod Hubbard of Greater Cedar Springs Baptist Church, Plains, is guest evangelist at 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Scotts Mater C.M.E. Church
The first black church organized in Americus celebrates its 160th anniversary at 2:30 p.m. May 19. Dr. Maurice S. Cherry, retired Texas College (Tyler, Texas) president, presiding elder and pastor the speaker for the event.

Shipp Chapel Missionary Baptist Church
The annual Spring Revival is celebrated at 7:30 p.m. May 7-9. Guest pastor for the week is the Rev. Edward Heath of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church, Albany. The public is invited.

New Zion Hope Baptist Church
A Family Renewal Conference is at 7 p.m. May 6-8. Speakers are Bishop Melvin McCluster of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and Choir on Monday; Elder Michael Coley of First United Holiness Church and Choir on Tuesday; and the Rev. Willie Pearman of Lynwood Baptist Church and Choir on Wednesday. Conference culminates at 10 a.m. May 12 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor George F. Monts Jr. delivering the message.

Revival services are at 7 p.m. May 20-23 with speakers Evangelist Geraldine Blackshear of Nazarene Church of God in Christ, May 20; Pastor Mary Minter of Restore Faith Ministry, May 21; Elder Ellen Battle of Tabernacle of Faith, May 22; and first lady Debra Monts of Zion Hope Baptist Church, May 23. Everyone is welcome.

United Holiness Church
The 46th church anniversary is observed at 7:30 p.m. May 16 and 17, and at 6 p.m. May 18. Everyone is invited.

ANDERSONVILLE
St. Paul A.M.E. Church
Everyone is invited to annual revival services at 7:30 p.m. May 6-9. Speaker for the week is the Rev. Darius Harris of Lake Worth, Fla.
Mothers’ Day is observed May 12 with Sunday school at 10 a.m., followed by the 11 a.m. worship service.

DESOTO
Friendship Baptist Church
The annual revival services are at 7:30 p.m. May 6-10 with the Rev. J.D. Walker, pastor of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Woodbine, bringing the sermon each evening.
The church’s 135th and the pastor’s 21st anniversaries are observed at 11 a.m. May 12 with Elder Ellen Battle of Tabernacle of Faith, Ellaville, as speaker.

LESLIE
Freedom Harvest Worship Center
A Pastor Appreciation celebration is May 5, beginning with the 9 a.m. worship service. Apostle Izell Williams and New Direction are in charge of the 3 p.m. service. Everyone is invited.

Old Corinth Missionary Baptist Church
The Women’s Day Program is held during the 10 a.m. worship service May 19. Speaker is Sister Carolyn Williams of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Parrott. Tamera Clark is mistress of ceremonies. All are welcome.

A gospel singing, featuring “Trinity of Love,” starts at 7 p.m. May 4.

Greater Cedar Spring Missionary Baptist Church
Men and Women Day is celebrated at 11 a.m. May 5. Everyone is invited.

LUMPKIN
New Vision Life Center
Eta Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. hosts its annual Mother-Daughter Scholarship Tea at 4 p.m. May 4. Scholarships are awarded to area high school graduates each year. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and best friends are invited for family fun, fellowship, and food for all. Activities: nail spa, candy buffet, table setting, etiquette conversations, and demonstrations, prize-winning purse raids, modeling beautiful dresses and hats, sampling a variety of teas, mother-daughter skit, door prizes, and photo prop pictures.
