PELHAM — Felice Jeraline Hayslip, 85, of Pelham, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.

She was born in Woodbury and was the daughter of the late Willie Edgar Gilbert and Blanche Brown Gilbert. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Melvin Gilbert, Willie “Bub” Gilbert, David Gilbert and Margaret “Modie” Gilbert.

Felice was a retired seamstress and before her declining health had been a member of First Christian Church in Americus. She was the eldest of nine children and as they said she helped to “raise” them all. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking and entertaining them, especially on holidays. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed card games and board games.

Felice is survived by her two daughters, Valerie Bracewell and her husband, Steve of Cairo and Susan Lynn Hayslip of Andersonville; two brothers and their wives, Eric Craig and Diane Gilbert of Wyoming, and William and Judy Gilbert of Woodbury; two sisters, Sara Stepp and her husband, Bob of Huntsville, Ala., and Brenda Burson of Americus; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
