AMERICUS — The Criminal Investigation Division of the Americus Police Department is investigating a weekend shooting.

Officers were called, at around 8:53 p.m. Sunday, to a report of a person shot in the Bessie Mays Circle and Norman Cole Street area. On arrival, officers found a subject who had been shot being attended to on the sidewalk by a concerned citizen.

The victim is identified as Kdarious Bartlett of a Columbus address. He suffered a gunshot wound to the left bicep, and was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center by EMS.

The shooting is an active investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 229-924-4550 or the anonymous tip line at 229-924-4102.
