AMERICUS — Mrs. Elizabeth Turner Turpin passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at First United Methodist Church with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Dr. Jerry Roe officiated. Entombment was private.

Members of the Epworth Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers.

A native of Americus, she was born on Feb. 26, 1925, a daughter of the late H.C. and Tonie Turner. She was retired from the Bank of Commerce.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Epworth Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William “Bill” Turpin; and by her brothers, H.C. Turner Jr. and Lee Jack Turner.

Survivors include her sisters, Lela B. Wilson and Faye Knight, both of Americus; nieces, Kim Mountjoy and Nally Mountjoy, Kerri Untch and Kristen Perry Gordon; nephew Ty Turner and nieces Hallie Turner and Anna Lane Turner; niece Jill Williams and her children Josh, Kate and Madison Williams; sister-in-law Stella Bridges (Louis); and her devoted caregivers: Teresa Durham, Brenda Roberts, Gwen Bryant, and Patricia Green.
