Mrs. Glenda Florence VanHouter, age 71, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Interment will follow in the Andersonville National Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Dunmon and the Rev. David Dispain will officiate. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at Aldridge Funeral Services.

Mrs. VanHouter was born Dec. 31, 1947, in Tifton, Ga., daughter of the late Marvin Saylor and the late Fannie Claire McElroy Walls. She was a homemaker and member of Christian Fellowship Church in Americus.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Madeline Campbell (James) of Americus and Desmia Lucas (Bobby) of Cordele; a son Joseph VanHouter of Americus; and two sisters and brother-in-law Diane LeVesque (Jim) of Mexico Beach, Fla., and Ann Goss of Mountain City, Ga. A brother Larry Saylor of Warwick, GA and nine grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Charles VanHouter and a brother Jimmy Saylor. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Christian Church, 1850 S. Lee St., Americus GA 31709.
