AMERICUS

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church

The church hosts 2019 Vacation Bible School (VBS) from 6-8 p.m. July 15-18. A Carnival is scheduled for July 19 on the church grounds. Free transportation available by calling (229) 942-2667 or (229) 938-6224. Johnnie Kaye Laster is VBS director.

 

Perry B. Grove Baptist Church

A men’s conference Saturday starts at 2 p.m. June 15. Speaker is Pastor Charlie Sheppard of Holy Tabernacle Church of Deliverance of Lumpkin.

 

Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church

A Pastor’s Appreciation Day celebration is at 3 p.m. June 23. Speaker is the Rev. Dr. Marvin Brown of St. Luke Baptist Church. The public is invited, and refreshments will be served.

 

Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church

Summer Youth Revival services are at 7 p.m. June 16-20 with the program as follows: Tuesday, the Rev. Michael Edge and William Grove Baptist Church family; Wednesday, the Rev. Calvin Rollins and Big Bethel Church family; and Thursday, Bishop Melvin McCluster and Friendship Baptist Church family.

 

Restoration Church of Americus Inc.

A Deacon Commissioning Ceremony for Michael Holloway and Darrell Pines is at 10 a.m. June 23. At 3 p.m. a Ministerial Licensing Ceremony for Pamela Fields and Jessica Sinclair will be held. Everyone is welcome at both.

BUENA VISTA

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church

Everyone is invited to the annual revival services at 7 p.m. July 30-Aug. 1 with Pastor Colby McKenzie as guest preacher. A different choir performs each night: Mount Olive on July 30, St. Mark’s on July 31, and Mount Zion on Aug. 1.

The public is also invited to celebrate the church and pastor anniversary at 11 a.m. Aug. 4 when Magnolia Bay’s pastor, officers, choir, ushers, and congregation take charge of the service.

 

DESOTO

Big Bethel Baptist Church

The church anniversary is celebrated at 11 a.m. June 23 with the Rev. Roderick Hubbard as guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

 

Jackson Grove Baptist Church

The church youth invites everyone to the annual Youth Revival at 7:30 p.m.  June 18-20. Tuesday is Twin Day; Wednesday is Spirit Day; and Thursday is Throwback Day. The revivalist for the week is Minister Nathan Sanford of William Grove Baptist Church of Ellaville. On June 23, the celebration continueswith Sunday school at 8:15 a.m. and worship at 9 a.m. when Brother Terrell Williams of Antioch Baptist Church brings words of encouragement. At 2:30 p.m. the youth host a music celebration and invite all youth and youth choirs in the surrounding area to participate.

 

PLAINS

St. Mark A.M.E. Church

Revival services start at 5 p.m. June 16 with guest preacher, the Rev. Dr. Kevin Moore of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Albany. Services continue at 7:30 p.m. June 17-19 with the following guests: Monday, the Rev. Michael Edge of William Grove Baptist Church, Ellaville; Tuesday, the Rev. Rickey Cladd of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Americus; and Wednesday, the Rev. Jermaine Harris of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, Americus. Everyone is invited any night of their choice.

 

 

LUMPKIN

Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church

Annual revival services are at 7:30 p.m. June 17-21. Evangelist for the week is the Rev. J. L. Kegler, pastor of Benevolence Baptist Church, Randolph County. Everyone is welcome.
