New dialysis going up in Americus

AMERICUS — An official groundbreaking ceremony was held recently for DCI Windsor clinic which will be constructed at 1219 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The new state-of-the-art facility dialysis clinic will have 15 stations with an isolation room within 9,600 sq. ft. According to the 2019 USRDS Annual Report, 26,953 Georgians are living with kidney failure. DCI, the nation’s largest non-profit dialysis provider, is trying to help Georgians manage kidney disease. DCI currently operates 20 clinics in Georgia, with two clinics — DCI Leesburg and DCI Dawson — within 25 miles of Americus. DCI offers free chronic kidney disease education and support to help people delay or possibly avoid dialysis through REACH Kidney Care in Albany and Columbus.
