AMERICUS

New Ebenezer Baptist Church

A Four Gospel Writers program is at 3 p.m. Aug. 18 with speakers Pastor Christopher O’Bryant, Pastor Travis Rush, Pastor Ronrica Gordon, and Pastor Nathaniel Sanford.

 

Healing Temple Ministries

Pastor Elder George A. and first lady Geraldine Solomon’s ministry of seven years is celebrated at 7 p.m. Aug. 20-23, and culminating at 3 p.m. Aug. 25. Guest speakers are Tuesday, Pastor Shelia Williams of the House of Praise Holiness Church, Richland; Wednesday, Apostle Norbert L. Ingram of Empowerment Worship Center, Albany; Thursday, the Rev. Willie A. Pearman of

Lynwood Baptist Church, Hawkinsville on Thursday; and Friday, Pastor Tanya Harris-Reese of Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple.

 

Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church

The Women’s Missionary Department, women of your church, and church family are invited to the annual Women’s Missionary Day Celebration at 2:20 p.m. Aug. 18 with guest speaker, Sister SaJuana Williams of Mayfield-Zion A.M.E. Church in Alamo.

 

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church

The church’s 141st anniversary is observed at 11 a.m. Sept. 15 during the worship service. At 2:30 p.m., the service is conducted by Mount Zion Baptist Church of Albany, and its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Daniel Simmons. Dinner will be served following the second service. The public is invited.

 

Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church

Revival services are Aug. 19-21. Speakers are, Monday, the Rev. Sherryl Sneed of Peters Chapel A.M.E. Church, Columbus; Tuesday, the Rev. Melvin McCluster of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Americus; and Wednesday, the Rev. Shirley Strawter of St. Mark and St. John A.M.E. Church, Plains.

At 3 p.m. Sug. 25, the church’s 117th anniversary is celebrated with the Rev. Terrence Evans of Greater Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church, Columbus as speaker.

Everyone is invited to celebrate Homecoming, the church’s 109th anniversary, and the pastor’s 36th anniversary at 11 a.m. Aug. 25. The Rev. David Hamm and Perry Grove Baptist Church are incharge of the service.

Heaven’s Saints Motorcycle Ministry

Come join us for a Benefit Ride sponsoring Called to Care Sumter starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 7 at Shema Baptist Church, 1785 Ga. Highway 226, Ellaville and ending at Plains United Methodist Church, 301 W. Church St., Plains. Called to Care Sumter is local ministry with a focus of sharing the love of Jesus by serving the foster care community in practical ways. Event is open to anyone who wants to participate in the 100-mile ride, or support the organization with a donation. Come early to sign in and receive yours. Lunch will be served afterward. Bethlehem Baptist Church

Homecoming service is at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 18 when John “Billy” Monts will be honored as the church’s senior member, and a memorial tribute for Charlene Wright Smith. Pastor Quintodd Bryant, host pastor, delivers the message. Guest churches for Homecoming are Greater New Lebanon, Lebanon Baptist Church, and Jerusalem Grove Baptist Church and choir. Dinner will be served.

 

Lebanon Baptist Church

A celebration of 35 years of pastoral leadership of the church pastor, the Rev. and first lady Hosie Waters is at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 with guest evangelist, the Rev. Larry B. Sims and Union Tabernacle Baptist. The Pastoral Anniversary Service is at 2 p.m. Aug. 25 with guest evangelist, Bishop Melvin McCluster and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

 

St. John A.M.E. Church

The annual Missionary Day Program is at 11:15 a.m. Aug.18, when the Rev. Shirley Strawter brings the word.
