Justice family member enjoys brief visit

Sergio and Mary Katherine Justice Carrano were relocated to San Antonio, Texas, with the U.S. Army two days before the birth of Evelyn Sims, daughter of Keith and Anna Justice Sims.

After the Carranos settled in and started their new jobs, Mary Katherine was able to come to Columbus for several days to visit her sister and new niece.

Wilbur and Vicki Justice took Mary Katherine back to the airport in Atlanta on Aug. 7 got her flight back home to Texas.

 

 

Hopewell Methodist Church to host Homecoming, Revival

The Rev. Tom Teate, retired United Methodist minister, will be guest preacher for the annual Homecoming Celebration during the 11 a.m. worship service Aug. 18 at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Schley County. The service is followed with a covered dish dinner.

Hopewell’s Revival services start at 7 p.m. Aug. 18-21, with Sunday night featuring a Sing-A-Long and a devotional. Tuesday is Youth Night.

Gues preachers are the Rev. Haynes Martin of Ellaville United Methodist Church, Monday; the Rev. Wayne Morrow Jr. of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, Tuesday; and the Rev. Chris Wooden of Andersonville United Methodist Church, Wednesday.

Musical groups participating are Lankford Ministries, Monday; Heath and Denise Holly, Tuesday; and Trinity, Wednesday.
Monday night the Schley County United Methodist Men’s group meets for a Ladies Night celebration with supper served at 6 p.m. prior to the revival service.

A children’s nursery is provided for each service.

Hopewell United Methodist Church is located 3.5 miles west of Ellaville on Hopewell Church Road.

 

Free legal advice available in Schley, Stewart, Webster counties

The Georgia Legal Services Program provides free civil legal services to all Georgians. Everyone, regardless of income level, with non-criminal legal problems or questions, may ask for advice.

Stewart County— 2-4 p.m. first Wednesday of each month — Parks Memorial Library, 890 Wall St., Richland

Webster County — 2-4:30 p.m. third Thursday of each month — Webster County Public Library, 40 Cemetery Road, Preston
