Sumter County Intermediate School held its Back to School Rally Friday. The students learned about attendance, behavior, reading, and math goals. Renee Mays, Ed.D., Rosemery Jones, Jeffrey Boges, Hollie Walters, Kizzy Clayton, Tawanna Bettis, and Hayley Champion reminded students how important it is to be at school every day as well has having good behavior throughout the day. They reviewed the process for earning the Top Readers award for each nine weeks, along with earning the various Karate Math levels. Boges gave an inspiring ‘Fresh MVP’ rap while showing off the awards for being a top reader, and teachers performed the ‘cupid shuffle.’ After the presentations, the students enjoyed a short dance party. Shown here, a group of students from Lorie Wainwright’s homeroom compete in the chant contest.
