Susan Robinson Barr of Americus correctly identified her father in Saturday’s photo. Montezuma native Sgt. Charles Robinson was one of the most decorated soldiers from Macon County in World War II. He earned the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry in Saipan and received further citation for service in connection with operations in Iwo Jima. He also saw action in the Marshall Islands and other locations. The first person to correctly identify today’s veteran will be acknowledged in Saturday’s edition of the Times-Recorder.
