AMERICUS — William “Pete” Wayne Bozeman, age 77, of Ellaville, died Aug. 20, 2019, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Birmingham, Ala., he was born Dec. 23, 1941, to the late Jeff and Martha Jane Bozeman. He was a member of County Line United Methodist Church in Ellaville. Mr. Bozeman was an avid gardener, a loving family man who loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at County Line United Methodist Church, 159 County Line Church Road in Ellaville. Interment will follow at County Line United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at their residence, 983 Ga. Highway 27 East, Americus and one hour prior to service at the church. Pallbearers include Cody Harris, Glenn Woods, James Gaddy, David Flick, Dylan Singley, Chris Bailey, and Brandon Singley. The family suggests donations be made to County Line United Methodist Church, 6374 Englishville Road, Andersonville GA 31711
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Katie Bozeman of Ellaville; two daughters and son-in-law, Martha (Kim) Hill of Reynolds and Rosemary Forbes of Jackson; three sons and daughter-in-law, Dean (Shelli) Bozeman of Butler, Wayne Bozeman of Americus, and Layman Bozeman of Ellaville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie Mae (David) Toms of Americus and Maxine Posey (Bruce) of Oglethorpe; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Bozeman, and five brothers, Hill Bozeman, Bill Bozeman, Bo Bozeman, Henry Bozeman, and Frank Bozeman.
