PRESTON — Cynthia Rueda, daughter of Interfor Preston Division employee, David Rueda, recently received an Interfor Tolleson-Wood Family Scholarship.

“Interfor believes in supporting our employees, their families, and the communities where we operate. The Tolleson-Wood Family Scholarship lets us support the children of employees as they make their way into the world,” says Bruce Luxmoore, vice President, southern Operations. “Interfor is proud to support these students in achieving their academic dreams, and we wish them the best of luck.”

Cynthia is currently a student at Georgia Southwestern State University, majoring in early childhood education. She aspires to become a pre-k or kindergarten teacher. Her father works as a machine operator at Interfor’s Preston Division.

“I would like to thank Interfor Corporation for selecting me for this scholarship once again,” says Cynthia. “I am graduating in 2020, with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Thanks also to my parents who have worked hard to get me to where I am today!”

Interfor awarded 25 scholarships to students whose parents or guardians work for Interfor. Recipients were chosen for their academic achievements, volunteer and community contributions, and educational and career goals.

The Tolleson-Wood Family Scholarship recognizes the Tolleson-Wood family’s significant contribution to the lumber industry in Georgia.
