AMERICUS —  The Americus-Sumter County Fair & Expo opens Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the Americus-Sumter County Expo and Fairgrounds located at 903 Adderton St.

During the hours of 5-10 p.m. Wednesday, there will be a Welcome to Americus Business Expo inside the Expo Center.

From 5-11 p.m. Thursday, all the fair’s attractions are open — from rides to food to exhibits to games. At 7 p.m. will be Karaoke and New Artist Showcase.

The fair and its attractions are open from 5-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, with a Block Party and Step Show at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, the fair opens at 1 p.m. and closes at 11 p.m. and offers all the attractions. That day will feature a Farm Equipment Expo and a Farmers Market in the Expo Center. Other attractions, on the fairgrounds, include a band exhibition and Youthfest.

On Sunday, Sept. 29, the fair will be open from 1-10 p.m. with a Gospelphest Gospel Concert at 5 p.m. and a fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m.

A petting zoo and racing pig shows will be open daily as well as other events.

Admission to the fair is $5 per person. A $20 band provides access to all rides. Parking is free.
