AMERICUS — Mrs. Margie Johnson Harden, 83, of Americus, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept, 27, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate.

Mrs. Harden was born July 19, 1936, in Ellaville. She was the daughter of the late Joe Riley Johnson and the late Hattie Sorrels Johnson. She retired from Manhattan Shirt Co. Mrs. Harden was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by stepdaughters Sue Lapinski of Americus, Ginger Purvis of Albany, Kitty Wisham of Americus, and Annette Barnes of Leslie; stepson Steve Harden of Sylvester; a sister Jeanette Baxter of Hawkinsville; and a brother George T. Johnson of Americus; five stepgrandchildren Mallary Wiggins of Americus, Emily Wiggins of Americus, Kesler Wiggins of Douglas, Barbara Russ of Douglas, and Johnny Lapinski of Warwick. Two nephews Larry Wall of Ellaville, Tommy Hallman of Bainbridge, and a niece Diane Hallman also survive.

Mrs. Harden was preceded in death by her husband Roy Ellis Harden, a sister Helen Walker and a stepson John Harden.
