AMERICUS — Kasey Mason Norton, age 49, of Americus, died Oct. 6, 2019, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Americus, she was born May 7, 1970. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Americus. She was a Christian by faith, who loved her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and her dogs. She was an avid sports fan who loved NASCAR racing and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, at St. John’s Anglican Church with Father Jim Parker and Pastor David Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. At other times, family will also receive friends at the home of Andrea and Russell Thomas, 201 Eckles Road, Americus GA  31709. Pallbearers include Jarrett Greene, J.T Cheek, Dane Shepard, Daniel Carver, James Walker, Dave Perry, and Chuck Smith.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Trey Norton of Americus; parents, Andrea and Russell Thomas of Americus; stepdaughter, Emily (Tyler) Whaley of Phoenix City, Ala.; four sisters, Rikki McDaniel of Glennville, Frances Thomas of Berkley, Calif., Ann Thomas of Americus, and Beth (James) Cheek of Leesburg; three brothers, David (Lanelle) Rogers of Valdosta, Russell (Angie) Thomas III of Houston, Texas, Braxton Thomas of Broomfield, Colo.; a mother-in-law, Terry McDonald of Americus; a father-in-law, J.B. Norton Jr. of Americus, and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and numerous aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father George Powell Mason. The family suggests memorial donations to be made to American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park, Suite 115, Atlanta GA; American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMD 359, Macon GA 31210; or the charity of your choice.
