BOC’s monthly Work Session to be moved to second floor of courthouse

AMERICUS- The meeting location for the Sumter County Board of Commissioners’ (BOC) Work Session Meeting for today, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 6:00 PM has been moved to the 2nd Floor of the Sumter County Courthouse in Courtroom A.
The main issue that the BOC will consider tonight is whether or not to approve the construction of a solar farm in and around the communities of Cobb, DeSoto and Leslie.
Last week, the Sumter County Planning and Zoning Board voted to approve the solar farm’s construction. The issue now goes to the BOC for a final vote, which is expected to made this evening at the work session.
