Lady Raiders improve to 3-0 with win over SGA

DAMASCUS, GA – Having defeated Citizens Christian Academy 47-32 in the second game of last week’s Terrell Tip-off Tournament, the Southland Lady Raider basketball team (SA) was poised and ready to stay undefeated when they traveled to Damascus, GA to take on Southwest Georgia Academy (SGA). Behind 14 points and three steals from junior Haleigh Warren, the Lady Raiders were able to knock off SGA 44-23 on Tuesday, December 3.

With the win, the Lady Raiders stay undefeated at 3-0 on the season.

In addition to Warren’s performance, junior forward Holly McCain nearly posted a double-double. McCain scored nine points and pulled down 11 rebounds to help lead the Lady Raiders to victory.

Junior guard Maddie Crisp scored six points, grabbed four rebounds and had three assists in the game. Freshman Riley Mitchell also scored six points, along with tallying two steals and two assists. Freshman Morgan Weaver was also in the scoring column, having scored two points.

Up next for SA is their home opener against Windsor Academy on Friday, December 6. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
