PHENIX CITY, AL – The Southland Academy Lady Raider basketball team (SA) showed very little rust from the Christmas break as they jumped out to a 25-0 lead on Edgewood (AL) and never looked back on their way to a 40-10 thrashing of the Lady Wildcats on Friday, December 27, in their first game of the Border Wars Tournament at the Glenwood School in Phenix City, AL.

The win pushes SA’s undefeated record up to 8-0 on the season.

Haleigh Warren led the Lady Raiders with 12 points and Julia Caroline Bailey scored seven. Maddie Crisp scored six points and tallied four steals on the day. Riley Mitchell also made a strong contribution in the game. Mitchell had five points along with three steals. Holly McCain scored four points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Morgan Weaver tallied four steals to go along with her four points.

The Lady Raiders will try to keep their record perfect when they take on Lee-Scott Academy from Auburn, AL in their second game of the tournament on Saturday, December 28, at noon EST.
