Lady Wildcats earn important region win over Crawford County

ELLAVILLE, GA – Schley County forward Amiyah Walker scored 13 points and Dasani Minter had 11 to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 44-36 victory over Crawford County on Tuesday, January 7, at Schley County High School (SCHS).

With the win, SCHS improves to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the Region 4-A standings.

According to information gathered from www.maxpreps.com, the Lady Wildcats are currently in seventh place in Region 4-A and are half a game behind Taylor County, who is at 4-4 in the region.

“We struggled from the charity stripe, but the defense was pretty strong,” SCHS head coach Cliff Royal said. “We go to Crawford Saturday, so we’ll see.”

Before their rematch at Crawford County on Saturday, January 11, the Lady Wildcats will host Brookstone (9-5, 4-2) on Friday, January 10, at 6 p.m. A year ago, the Lady Wildcats split with the Lady Cougars. SCHS defeated BHS 44-42 at home and lost the rematch in Columbus by the score of 48-41.

Weather permitting; the Lady Wildcats will travel to Crawford County on Saturday, January 11, for the rematch against the Lady Eagles. Tip off for that game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
