Jewel Marie Wynn Brooks, age 83, of Americus, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter. Mrs. Brooks was born June 8, 1936 in Americus, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Dudley Wynn and Jessie Pearl Wynn. Mrs. Brooks was Methodist by faith. She was retired from Manhattan shirt company in Americus, where she served as a supervisor in many departments. She also worked as a clerk for Belks in Americus and Albany.

 

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove cemetery with Bro. Matt Pearce officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Tina Kobs, 155 Williams Rd. Americus, GA.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie(Gary) Carnes of Leslie and Tina Kobs of Americus; two sons, Frank(BoBo) Price of Crystal River, FL. and David(Marie) Price of Homosassa, FL.; four grandchildren, Tony Carnes of Moultrie, GA., Scott(Christine) Carnes of Americus, Stevie Lowery of Americus, and Nikole(Michael) Rohrer of Beverly Hills, FL. seven great-grandchildren, Alexandra Carnes of Americus, Gaige and Seth Carnes of Cochran, GA., Cameron Carnes of Vienna, GA., J.P. Carnes of Vienna, GA., Ansley Kate Lowery of Pensacola, FL., and Olyvia Freeman of Beverly Hills, FL.; two great-great-grandchildren, Zoey Stephens of Vienna, GA. and Jaxon Stillwell of Vienna, GA. Ex-husband and stepmother to her children Frank Price and Gloria Price. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by husband, Ben David Brooks, Jr., two brothers, Allen Wynn and Harold Wynn, two sisters-in-law, Quenelle Wynn and Kathy Wynn, a nephew Al Wynn and a son-in-law Billy Kobs.
