Americus – The Mayor and City Council has decided on one finalist for the position of Interim City Manager.  The candidate’s name is Diadra Powell, Finance Director of the City of Americus.

Mrs. Powell currently works as the City of Americus Finance Director and has been employed since 2013.  She previously worked as a Senior Management Assistant with the City of New Bern, North Carolina.  She has earned a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from East Carolina University.  She currently lives in Leesburg, Georgia.

Mayor Barry Blount stated that Mrs. Powell has the experience and education to perform the job of Interim City Manager. The City Council will consider whether to appoint Diadra Powell as Interim City Manager at a called meeting to be announced in the near future.  The meeting will be open to the public.
