As of Wednesday March 18, 2020, Phoebe Sumter Medical Center has performed 28 tests for COVID-19 with 27 still waiting for results.

Of those tested, 5 are inpatient waiting for results, 22 are well enough to wait for their results at home.  There was one negative test result and zero positive results at the time of the update.

Phoebe Sumter has suspended elective surgeries effective yesterday and they are evaluating outpatient procedures daily.  Anyone with a scheduled appointment that is cancelled will be notified directly.

We encourage everyone to listen to authorities concerning precautions in social situations.  Keep a 6 foot distance between yourself and others.  The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends citizens should refrain from attending social gatherings.  Wash your hands regularly.  If you are experiencing symptoms, please stay home and contact your physician. americustimesrecorder.com will keep you updated as more information becomes available
