Sumter County Fire & Rescue is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia for the collection of pull tabs. The pull tabs are recycled, and the money collected goes to the operating budget for Ronald McDonald House. Funds raised from the Pull Tab Program help the center offer low cost housing options to families that cannot afford long term hotel stays.

We will have several drop-off/collection points in our community, with the main location being Sumter County Fire & Rescl.:le Station I located at 210 Rucker Street. We are asking businesses to join us in being collection points. We have all supplies that you will need and will set it up for you..There is also an option available for local restaurants to host a Charitable Giving Day.

“This is a remarkable charity and a great opportunity for our community to help those in need. Fifteen years ago, I stayed at the Ronald McDonald House while one of my sons was being treated at the Children’s Hospital in Macon. Not only did  they provide my family with a place to stay for several weeks, but they also provided three meal a day. It’s hard to describe how much that means to parents with a hospitalized child, ” said Fire Chief Jerry Harmon.
