Mr. Julian Layfield age 80, of Americus, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Private graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 27, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Steve Golden will officiate. The family will receive friends at the residence of Patricia Brock 104 Irene Drive Americus.

Mr. Layfield was born January 4, 1940 in Macon County. He was the son of the late Marvin Layfield and the late Ruby Ray Layfield. He worked for Redman formerly in Americus and farmed. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife Betty White Layfield of Americus; a daughter Pam Layfield and a son Curtis Layfield. Two sisters and brother-in-law, June Johnson (Jack) of Valdosta and Joyce Smith of Americus. Two brothers Mitchell Layfield of Tifton and Lloyd Layfield of Reynolds. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Layfield was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Layfield.
