Mrs. Jean Ferguson Hodges Deriso age 78 of Americus, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday May 27, 2020 at the DeSoto City Cemetery. Rev. Troy Fripp will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Deriso was born February 6, 1942 in Americus. She was the daughter of the late John Ed Ferguson Jr. and the late Elizabeth Suggs Ferguson. She retired from Lake Blackshear Regional Library and served on the lake Blackshear Regional Library Board. She was a member of the DAR Council of Safety Chapter, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, a member of the Americus Sumter Arts Council and a member of the Retired Educators Association. She also served many years with the Rylander Theater. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the DeSoto Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Hunter Glenn Hodges (Jana) of Albany and Stuart Hodges (Lori) of Valdosta. Two sisters Kay Ferguson Boyd of Albany and Mary Ferguson of Albany. A brother John Ed Ferguson III and four grandchildren Holly Hodges, Hunter Glenn Hodges Jr., Marlo Elizabeth Hodges and Mason Stuart Hodges also survive.
