AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern State University women’s basketball team defeated the Middle Georgia State Lady Knights 109-59 on Monday evening, November 15, in the Lady Hurricanes’ first home game of the year at the Storm Dome.

While GSW Head Coach Justin Payne was obviously happy with the victory, he was also very pleased that his squad was able to transfer the type of effort and style of play that it had been working on in practice on to the court at game time.

“I was just really, really proud of our girls. I thought we did a great job of really hewning in on our principles,” Payne said. “Throughout the game, we wanted to make sure that we stay in rhythm. Even though we were up a lot, we just wanted to make sure we stay in rhythm for other games. You could get lax so many times when you get up and we wanted to make sure that we were staying focused on our details.”
