The Sumter Players have announced that they are holding auditions for the opening show of their 60th anniversary season, “Harvey”, next week. Many are familiar with the 1950 film adaptation starring Jimmy Stewart as Elwood P. Dowd, an easy going yet eccentric man who befriends a giant invisible rabbit. Those interested can come to auditions at the Georgia Southwestern Experimental Theatre July 29th, July 31st, or August 1st, at 6:30 p.m. The performances will take place at the historic Rylander Theater October 3-6.

For their annual holiday show, Sumter Players will perform “Elf, the Musical”. Auditions will be held September 3-5 at 6:30 p.m., also at the Georgia Southwestern Experimental Theatre. Performances will be at the Rylander on Dec 6, 7 (two shows), and 8.

The Sumter Players will release details of their entire 60th anniversary season on August 1st. Visit their website for more information at: SumterPlayers.org or contact them via email at: sumterplayers@gmail.com.
