Angie Lundy and Frederick Bryant, Influance Distributors, were guest speakers in South Georgia Technical College’s Cosmetology class recently and also provided a demonstration on the different types of hair products available from Influance.
Influance Hair Care is a premier hair care company, dedicated to creativity and providing innovative products that promote healthy hair. They strive to contribute to the overall growth and development of professional cosmetologists by providing personal service of the highest quality. The Influance team also promotes the cosmetology industry by providing educational and motivational seminars.
The two were invited to speak and demonstrate the proper way to apply a relaxer, and help students understand the importance of choosing the correct product for the specific hair type. They also demonstrated when and how to use a certain type of product for different hair types.
“The business side of being a cosmetologist, or a salon owner is very important for our students to be successful,” explained SGTC Cosmetology Instructor Dorothea McKenzie. “It is also important for the students to hear from people in the industry about the importance of discipline when working for yourself. Work ethics play a major role in the success of any career, but especially cosmetology.”
Lundy and Bryant encouraged the students to always continue their education. “Never stop learning. Take as many classes as possible to stay abreast of new trends and procedures,” explained the two. They stressed the importance of staying on top of new styles, and trends as they come and go. They also added that professionalism and consistency will help individuals stay in business.
“We appreciate Angie Lundy and Frederick Bryant visiting our college and for putting together this presentation for the cosmetology students,” said SGTC Cosmetology Instructor Dorothea Lusane McKenzie. “Having professionals come in and talk with our students gives them a good perspective about the industry and helps prepare them for a great career.”
Angie Lundy also did a demonstration on student/model Quaesha French to show students how the products worked on different hair types.
