Americus Music Festival

Music Fest was held October 19. The SAM short line brought visitors from Cordele. Kids played football by the depot, and food trucks carried a variety ranging from Greek cuisine to baked goods. Vendors sold various artworks.
Sadie Cannon talked about her experiences at music fest. “They come every year, and that’s the biggest music fest that we. . . have ever had, and it’s amazing, and I invite anyone that want to come out, you will have an awesome good time.” She told how there was a lot of stuff to do for the kids.
Jill Kloverdanze told what it was like. “I love it.” She told how she was a regular. “I moved here about three years ago and I come every year and I just love it, and I’ve got my bff from the 7th grade she’s from Lee County, this is her first time.”
Alli Allisonne also shared her reactions, coming to music fest for the first time. “I loved how multi-cultural it is. Seeing the flamenco dancers, the fire dancers, the art and just the atmosphere.”
She told what the highlights were. “The music. I love the jazz.” She told how she also liked folk-rock.
Katie Calcheno also shared her experiences coming for the first time. “I think the weather is beautiful. It’s been a wonderful experience to bring the community together. The music has been wonderful. The spoken word was beautiful, and it’s just a great opportunity for the kids to get out and enjoy themselves, and the adults to relax a little bit.”
When asked if there was any highlight that stood out in particular, she replied; “The girl that did the spoken word was really inspiring, I think, for everybody.”
The music and entertainment was as follows: Classic Soul, Ninos de Iglesia Tourre Fuerte, Blake Guthre W/Nicole Chillemi, Sumter County Middle School choir, KP & The Sidewinders, Amerigospel, The Good News Band, Flamenco, Seth Meadows Band, Y-O, Southern Jazz Collective, Mad Hatter’s Dance Troupe, Essence Band, Endless Entertainment, A2Z Party Band, and DJ Chilango.
