Children in costumes in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs could be seen going up and down Lee Street. At Pat’s Place, several donned costumes in expectation of trick-or-treaters.
Delaney Comer dressed as Lorde, as portrayed by Randy Marsh in South Park. Kim Ashmore dressed as Moth Man, Trent Ashmore dressed as Doug Dimmadome, from the Fairly OddParents, Jackson McSweeney as Tom Cruise from Risky Business, and Hannah Tucker as Alice in Chains, a play on Alice in Wonderland with the grunge band Alice in Chains.
A trio walked by, a couple displaying homemade or modified creations. Robert Burton was a giant lobster, from the popular online media S.C.P, or Search Contain Protect. Noah Russell wore a costume inspired by 101 Dalmatians, and Trayvon Burton had a DIY costume with ghastly fake stab wounds.
Melanie Kohler was dressed as a vampire. She told why she chose the costume. “It was a little scary.” Her brother was dressed as a ninja. He told how he liked swords.
Walking down the street, Carlos Delacruz was dressed as Mario and his brother, Memo Delacruz, was dressed as Luigi. Memo told how he liked Halloween because you can dress up and get treats. He also said he enjoyed seeing his favorite shows represented in the costumes. “You can see pretty cool people.”
