C.B. Dowdell American Legion Post 558 hosted the Veterans Day parade the Friday before Veterans Day. Onlookers came out of shops, several waving flags to greet the passing trailers, golf carts, vehicles, and marchers participating.

Mayor Lee Kinnamon and Council member Nicole Smith represented the City of Americus. Representative Patty Stinson and Allyson Drinnon, representing Congressman Sanford Bishop, also participated.

The Schley County high school marching band played, and American Legion post 558 had two trucks, one hauling a trailer with participants waving flags.
