The Americus Christmas parade was held 7 pm on December 5. Onlooker Prabhu Dwaram shared his reactions. “It was amazing. It’s my first time attending the parade. I didn’t think it was gonna be this good. I saw the Furlow Charter float up front, and I remember the Grinch driving around in a little go cart.”
He was also impressed by the turnout. “I’m amazed to see all these people standing around and enjoying the parade together, that makes me happy.”
Simone Gillispie, a softball player at Georgia Southwestern, also shared her response to seeing the parade. “I love the parade. It really just brings the community together. I’m here with my teammates, and we just had a good time, you know, gets us in the spirit, gets us ready for Spring.”
She shared her favorite floats. “I’m gonna say the Harper’s Animal Clinic, because my best friend’s on the float.”
Gillispie summed up the experience. “I really just liked the. . . atmosphere that we got. Everyone was super hyped, super fun, and I just really love America as a whole.
Carissa White also shared her reactions. “I loved it, 10 out of 10.” She told which float was her favorite. “The Tractor Supply One. They were really attractive.”
Elizabeth May stated her favorite float was the Grinch, and gave a second favorite. “One of the Church floats, and they had the little kids dressed as little lambs. It was so cute.”
