Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I’ve been able to attend several events recently. I was able to see the Christmas Parade in downtown Americus, and the Sumter Player’s rendition of Elf the Musical in The Rylander. I was also able to hear the Georgia Southwestern civic chorus and concert choir, along with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, at First Methodist Church.

I think what I enjoyed most was getting to enjoy these with others. Some of the people I ran into were acquaintances from work, some members of my church, and others friends I’ve come to know during my time here. Each beautiful strand of music, or creatively decorated float, or comedic scene was made more meaningful with company. It was especially enjoyable to hear people’s reactions, and experience little brief snapshots of the events through the eyes of so many others who live and visit our community. I’ve been able to see a kaleidoscope of different personalities all expressing themselves uniquely through different interests, jobs, projects and passions. It’s an adventure in itself, seeing who’ll you’ll met, and what their story is going to be. Some of them can be pretty entertaining, and the exciting part is that they are still add new chapters to them.

It’s a privilege to tell the stories of so many people, often times those who’ve never met me before. It’s a privilege I’m grateful for.
