Sumter County Board of Elections has delayed response to Freedom of Information Request

The Americus Times-Recorder made a freedom of information request for the names of those who adjudicated the votes for the November 5 election for the position of Lower Chattahoochee River Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor on January 13. This request came after the Americus Times-Recorder independently verified several discrepancies in adjudicated votes discovered by the Coalition for Good Governance. Write-ins such as Thomas Taylor, Marcus Arnett, Myles Paramore, Jones, Dillan Brogden, Sam Peavy, Anthony Dunning, and Clay Jones were all adjudicated to Jeffery Clements.
While the ATR has received responses from Sumter County, a timeline is still forthcoming. On January 16, Latoya McCants, Sumter County Clerk, acknowledged that they had three days to respond and give a deadline.
Elections supervisor LaSandra Patterson responded on January 24, giving the following acknowledgement. “Something came up, but I will get your information to you as soon as possible. Thank you in advance!”
As of 9:15 AM on January 27, the ATR has still not received a deadline on the list of names of those who adjudicated votes.
