Erika Carrillo Arias promoted to SGTC Human Resources Coordinator

Erika Carrillo Arias of Americus has been promoted to Human Resources Coordinator at South Georgia Technical College effective immediately, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. She will continue to report to Human Resources Director Suzanne Singletary and Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe.
As the Human Resources Coordinator for SGTC, Carrillo Arias’ responsibilities will include coordinating one or more functional areas within the college’s human resourcesdepartment; providing information to employees regarding the employment application and interviewing process, posting job announcements, providing information about employee benefits for new and existing employees and coordinating flexible benefits packages for new and existing employees as well as other duties as assigned.
Carrillo Arias has been employed as an HR Specialist at SGTC since 2022. Prior to joining the South Georgia Technical College HR staff, she served as an HR Assistant at the Sumter County Board of Commissioners. She was employed there from 2017 until 2022. She also worked as an HR/Recruitment Specialist for Unlimited Contract Services, Inc., in Buena Vista, GA and as a Quality Control Technician at McCleskey Mills in Smithville, GA. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Her certifications and trainings include: I-9 and Immigration Law Compliance Training, Discipline and Termination Training, Diversity in the Workplace Training, FMLA Compliance, Microsoft Word and Excel Applications and Customer Service Training and more.
She is a graduate of the South Georgia Technical College Business Technology program and is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Business – Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix. She is also a graduate of Americus High School.
