SGTC Student Government Association donates essentials to Friends on a Mission

AMERICUS — South Georgia Technical College’s (SGTC) Student Government Association on the Americus campus recently held a special toiletries drive for Friends on a Mission, the community’s local homeless shelter. The organization collected items like toothpaste, deodorant, soap, towels, and other essential items from SGTC students, faculty, and staff and delivered the items personally to the shelter.
SGA members who helped with the delivery included Ashley Rodgers of Oglethorpe, Kyler Phelps of Montezuma, Markell Stone of Americus, Janiyah Johnson of Stockbridge, Shayna Jones of Americus, Destiny Walker of Oglethorpe, and Mark Espinoza of Deltona, Fla. SGTC staff and SGA advisors who also helped with the collections and delivery included Don Smith, assistant to the president; Terri Battle, Athletics assistant; Cynthia Carter, director of Career Services; Michele Seay, psychology instructor; and Paul Farr, general education instructor.
