MONROE — Mrs. Emily Zuck Duff, 94, of Monroe, Ga., passed away on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Great Oaks Assisted living. As they requested, the ashes of Emily and Maurice Duff will be joined and a joint memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus; burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Duff was born on Feb. 22, 1920, in Erie, Pa. She graduated from the University of Ohio in 1941. Emily’s family relocated to Atlanta in 1949, where she worked at The Georgia Institute of Technology and Cloudt’s Catering, Emily Loved music. She was a graduate of the Erie Conservatory of Music in violin and sang with the Choral Guild of Atlanta.
Mrs. Duff is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, son Dr. Thomas Gleason and wife Archodessia of Baltimore, Md., John Gleason Jr. and wife Dorothy of Loganville, Ga., Patrick Duff and wife Valerie of Americus, Ga., and Gordon Duff of Tifton, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Gleason Benson and husband Lawrence of Thomasville, Ga., and Susan Duff Cowart and husband Charles of Arlington, Ga. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mrs. Duff was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Aloycious Duff of Morgan, Ga.; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Oda Mitchell, and her sister, Mildred Lanphear
