Robert D. Waller, MD, 89, of Americus, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died March 22, 2015 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at The First United Methodist Church of Americus. Rev. Jim Smith and Rev. Dennis Stalvey will officiate.

A native of Mauk, GA in Taylor County, Dr. Waller was born to the late Randall and Carrie Rogers Waller. He graduated from Butler High School and was a 1948 graduate of The Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Waller was a veteran of The Korean Conflict serving in the Army Medical Corps.

He lived in Albany, GA for thirty two years where he was a partner in Radiology Associates. He was a member and Fellow of the American College of Radiology, a member of the Dougherty County Medical Society, the Medical Association of Georgia and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Waller was a member the First United Methodist Church of Americus, The Benevolent Lodge #3 F&AM in Milledgeville, GA, he was a York Rite Mason and a member of Hasan Shriners. He was also a member of the Americus Kiwanis Club, was previously a member of the Dougherty County Kiwanis Club for twenty five years and a former member of Doublegate Country Club. Other than dedicated medical work, his farm in Taylor County, fishing and hunting were his hobbies.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Reddick Waller of Americus, GA, a daughter and her husband, Linda and Ed Gosnell of Mauk, GA, a son and his wife, Robert and Corlette Waller of Westfield, IN and their children, Carlyn and Nate Wicks, Crosby Waller and Caleigh Waller.

From 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Wednesday, Mrs. Waller will receive her fellow residents of Magnolia Manor in the Magnolia Room.

A visitation will be held one hour before the funeral on Thursday in the Parlor of the First United Methodist Church of Americus, GA.
