HERMITAGE, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man was picked up for drunken driving twice within 75 minutes over the weekend.
Jeremy P. Branca, 19, was seen at 11:59 p.m. Saturday straddling lanes and changing lanes without signaling, police said. He was pulled over and police said he smelled of alcohol and failed sobriety tests.
When police tried to put handcuffs on him, Branca pulled away and struggled with police, police said.
Branca was released to an adult after processing.
At 1:13 a.m. Sunday, an officer spotted Branca exiting a store and getting into his car, police said.
Branca drove onto the road, stopped at a green light and drove over the center line, police said. He was, once again, pulled over.
District Judge D. Neil McEwen, Pine Township, arraigned Branca on two counts each of drunken driving, a lane violation and underage drinking and a count of resisting arrest. McEwen committed Branca to jail and set a preliminary hearing for 3:30 p.m. April 9 before District Judge Ronald E. Antos, Farrell.
Branca is set to be in Mercer County Common Pleas Court April 9 on a previous drunken driving charge. He was arrested Nov. 1 in Hermitage.
