Darrin Keith Ross, the suspect in three shooting deaths in Americus, who shot himself in Cordele Tuesday, remains in critical condition this morning at a Macon hospital, according to Danny Jackson, special agent in charge, Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 3 Americus Office.

Jackson said the gun Ross used to shoot himself in the head Tuesday, following a chase by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, is the same caliber as the weapon used by Ross’ to shoot his three victims. However, Jackson said the final determination will be made by the State Crime Lab.

Jackson said autopsies were being performed today at the State Crime Lab on the victims: Ross’ wife, Tonya Ross; Corey Willis and Quanesha Brown.

The investigation by the GBI and Americus Police Department continues.
