AMERICUS — The celebration service for the life of David Buice will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at Cornerstone Church at 245 Southland Drive, Americus GA 31709.
David was born on April 15, 1965, to Herbert and Mary Lou Buice in Gadsden, Ala. He was a proud graduate of the Hokes Bluff High School Class of 1983, followed by undergraduate degrees from Auburn University and Jacksonville State University. David taught school at Gadsden Christian School, Oxford High School and Staley Middle School in Americus, Ga. In 2012, David, along with his wife Lisa, accepted the Lord’s call into full-time ministry as missionaries in the land of Taiwan.
David left his earthly home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, shortly after celebrating his 50th birthday among many special friends following a morning chapel service.
David was preceded in death by his (mother) Mary Lou Buice and (sister) Mary LaGail Buice.
David is survived by his (wife) Lisa Buice, (father) Herbert Buice, and (sister) Linda Buice Sims (Tim) and his loving and devoted niece Reagan Elizabeth Sims. “Papa David,” as Lisa’s family affectionately called him, was very proud to tell everyone that when he married Lisa he got an instant family including stepdaughter Christina Allen (Greg) and their children Kamea, Janiya, Jacob and D.J.; stepdaughter Lindsey Hobbs (Shane) their daughter Leilany and stepson Jeremy Higley. He is also survived by many special loving friends and family worldwide.
David was truly the most loving, caring and giving person anyone could ever meet, always putting others before himself. He touched countless souls everywhere he went. His faith was unparalleled and he is now with God for eternity.
David’s life is best summed up with Galatians 5: 22-23 — “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” David lived this out every day.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in memory of David Buice for Dasi Church building equipment and building supplies. Please send to: Northeast Taiwan Christian Association Inc., 245 Southland Road, Americus GA 31709
