Phoebe Sumter to host 6th Annual Women’s Health Conference this Saturday, May 16

AMERICUS —This is National Hospital Week, and Phoebe Sumter Medical Center joins hospitals across the nation in observance of this special week in health care with a number of activities. The week will end with Phoebe Sumter’s annual women’s health conference.
Phoebe Sumter hosts its 6th Annual Women’s Health Conference from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. The event is for women and girls of all ages and is free to the public. The event takes place at the Student Success Center (aka the Storm Dome) on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, and this year’s theme is “The Power of Healthy Living is in You.”
From 8-10 a.m. there will be registration, continental breakfast, health screenings, education booths and vendors. There will also be a spinning and zumba demonstration during this time.
There will also be a Year in Review and a welcome by Phoebe Sumter CEO Brandi Lunneborg. Next, there will be presentations by Ashley Patterson, registered dietitian, and Malcolm Floyd, M.D. Also on tap are musical selections by local artists and recognition of the Americus-Sumter Lady Panther basketball team for their outstanding season (29-2, Region Champs, Elite 8 appearance).
The keynote speaker will be Americus native Latrina Patrick, a certified holistic health coach, tabata boot camp instructor and overall health and wellness champion.
Last but not least, a medical panel will answer questions from the audience.
