SGTC hosts 2015 GED Graduation ceremony June 2

A large number of students from Sumter, Crisp, Marion, Schley and Webster counties are scheduled to receive their General Educational Development (GED) Diploma during the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Adult Education Graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. June 2 in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus.

SGTC President Sparky Reeves will welcome each of the graduates and their families to the graduation ceremony and SGTC Assistant Vice President of Adult Education Jan Hobgood will introduce the guest speaker.

A’Nisha Wafford of Americus, SGTC’s 2015 EAGLE (Exceptional Adult Georgia in Literacy Education) representative is the graduation speaker. Joan Granville was her GED instructor at SGTC.

Wafford represented SGTC at the Technical College System of Georgia’s Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education conference earlier this year. She was recognized as one of the top 30 adult learners in the state for her outstanding achievement in the state’s adult education program.

Reeves, Jan Hobgood and Connie Wise, SGTC Chief GED Examiner, will recognize each of the graduates after Wafford’s speech.
