AMERICUS — The Sumter Humane Society has a special fund raiser coming up, sure to appeal to kids and adults alike.
Zombie Madness is planned for Oct. 23 and 24 at Hodges Hobbies, 428 Neil Hodges Road, Andersonville, eight miles northeast of Americus.
At 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and 24, folks can enjoy a Zombie Horror Ride. It’s a two-mile hay ride through Hodges Haunted Woods featuring some very “scary” things that promise to thrill and chill participants. Rides are $15 per person with a discount for military, law enforcement and college students.
If riding through the woods is not enough, there’s the Zombie Madness 5K Run/Walk (Zombie Chase with optional obstacle course through Hodges Haunted Woods) starting at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 24. Pre-registration is $20 per person if registered by Oct. 16 (visit active.com), accompanied by a t-shirt. Walk-up registration is $25.
A discount price for the Zombie Terror Ride is available with presentation of race bib on Saturday, Oct. 24.
