AMERICUS — Mr. Claud David Moore Jr.,72, passed away on Sunday morning, Sept. 27, 2015, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30,  in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home. Keith Wishum will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Sept. 29, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.
Born May 14, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas, he was a son of the late Claud David Moore Sr. and Myrtle Odessa Dillard Moore. Mr. Moore was a member of Williams Road Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was an educator, having taught and coached at Americus High School and then as a math teacher and tennis coach at Southland Academy until his retirement in 1991.  He was an avid sports fan with a love of all sports.
Survivors include his brother, Gary Moore (Martha) of Oxford, Ga.; two nephews: Bryan Moore and Daniel Moore, both of Athens; two great-nephews: Quinn Moore and Isaiah Moore; and one great-niece, London Moore.
