Smithville student competes In Ms. ABAC Pageant Oct. 8

TIFTON — Dalanie Israel, a student at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, will compete for the title of Ms. ABAC at the 47th annual pageant on Oct. 8. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Howard Auditorium.
The theme of this year’s contest is “New Chapters … Old Traditions.” The pageant is sponsored by the Ag Business Club.
Israel, a diversified agriculture major from Smithville, is sponsored by ABAC’s Baptist Collegiate Ministries. She is the daughter of Charles and Tracy Israel.
Admission is $10. Because of limited seating, advance ticket purchase is advised from Ag Business Club members. Tickets can also be purchased from Judy Perry in Ag Sciences 118 or from Audrey Luke-Morgan at 229-391-4807 in Ag Sciences 111.
Participants will compete in casual and evening wear. They will also be judged on a written essay and an interview with the judges.
Mike Chason, director of Public Relations Emeritus, will serve as master of ceremonies. All proceeds from the Ms. ABAC pageant will benefit ABAC Scholarships, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and ABAC’s 2016 National Agri-Marketing Association Team.
