Shooting incident under investigation

AMERICUS — Local authorities are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at 11 p.m. Wednesday in the area of North Lee and Reddrick streets.
Maj. Richard McCorkle, who heads the investigative division of the Americus Police Department, said the victim told police he had been shot and crashed his vehicle in the area. The man, Markus D. Adams, 21, of 933-B Oglethorpe Ave., Americus, was airlifted to a Macon hospital for treatment.
McCorkle said a .40-caliber hand gun was recovered.
Americus Police and the Region III Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation continue the investigation of the incident.
