Amanda Barrett named SGTC accounting specialist

AMERICUS — Amanda Barrett of Americus has been named accounting specialist at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC), announced Acting President Janice Davis recently. Barrett will report to SGTC Accounting Director Robin Bell.
In her new role, Barrett will primarily be responsible for recording accurate financial transactions, analyzing and reconciling accounting records, and preparing standard accounting reports. She will also process accounts payables and receivables and prepare payment requests and checks.
Previously, Barrett was the Financial Aid specialist at SGTC, a role she held since 2011. Prior to employment at SGTC, she was an administrative assistant at the South Georgia College Entry Program, an AP/GL clerk at Magnolia Manor, office assistant at Stanfield Electric, and treasurer at Eastside Baptist Church.
“We are very pleased to welcome Amanda Barrett to SGTC’s Business Office,” said Acting President Davis. “Her background in accounting and previous experience will make her a great asset to this department.”
Barrett earned a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Georgia Southwestern State University. She and her husband, Clay, reside in Americus with their three children — Dylon, 11; Jaxon, 6; and Caden, 2.
