AMERICUS — Lydia Caroline Bass, age 16, of 160 Dogwood Hills, died at her residence Monday, Dec.14, 2015. A native of Americus, she was born Sept. 29, 1999. Lydia attended First Baptist Church of Americus and was a member of the SAR Band, Beta Club, Science Club  and Civinettes. She was a great student and loved reading.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Americus with the Rev. Andy Taunton and Dr. John Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Grant and Pamela Stepp, 196 Ga. Highway 49 North. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the SAR Band, 123 Southland Road, Americus GA  31709.
Survivors include her mother and father, Michelle O’Neal Bass and Jack Bass Jr. of Americus; a sister, Sara Margaret Bass of Americus; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Clyde O’Neal II of Glennville; paternal grandparents, Jack and Elise Bass of Warwick; paternal great-grandmother, Sara Bass of Warwick; and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Peggy Garrason O’Neal.
